What World Robot Olympiad is

The World Robot Olympiad runs national competitions in more than eighty countries feeding an international final that moves country each year. Categories include RoboMission, where autonomous robots complete table challenges; RoboSports, a two-versus-two robot game; and Future Innovators, an open project category. Its geographic spread makes it the most internationally accessible robotics competition in this directory.

How the competition works

Four categories: RoboMission, RoboSports, Future Innovators and Future Engineers. In RoboMission a new field and mission are developed each year for each age group, with surprise rules or extra challenges on competition day. Future Innovators is project-based: teams research the season theme, build a functioning robotic solution and present it at a booth, judged on the solution plus innovation and entrepreneurship. Every team and coach must sign the WRO Ethics Code.

Eligibility notes

Age groups are Elementary, Junior and Senior with specific birth-year cutoffs published each season. Rules are consistent internationally but registration is national.

Is World Robot Olympiad right for you?
