Find competitions that fit you
Describe the student in plain words, or answer the six questions. Either way you get a ranked list with the reason for every match. Nothing you are ineligible for will appear, and anything filtered out for eligibility is shown separately so you can see why.
Describe yourself or your child
Write it however you like. I will work out what I can, show you what I understood, and you can correct anything before the results appear. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved.
Your matches will appear here
Answer the questions and press the button. Results are computed in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.
How the matching works
Will it recommend something I cannot enter?
No. Grade eligibility is applied as a hard filter before anything is ranked, competitions outside your region are removed when you say you are outside the United States, and anything above a budget you set is removed too. Everything ruled out is listed underneath your matches with its specific reason, rather than silently disappearing. One caveat worth knowing: a free entry fee is not the same as a free competition, since team events can carry materials and travel costs. Each listing states those separately.
What does the match score actually mean?
It is a weighted sum of how well each competition fits the answers you gave: subject interest, difficulty against your stated experience, format, budget, location and time commitment. Every result lists the specific reasons it matched, so you can judge the reasoning rather than trusting a number. It is a sorting aid, not a verdict.
Is the description box an AI?
No, and I would rather say so than imply otherwise. It reads your sentence for things it recognises: an age or grade, subjects, a budget, whether you can travel, whether you want a team. It then fills in the questions below and shows you exactly what it understood so you can fix anything it got wrong. It runs entirely in your browser, costs nothing and works offline. A real language model would handle unusual phrasing better, but it would send your description to a server and cost money for every question asked.
Is my information stored?
No. The matching runs entirely in your browser against a public data file. Nothing you select is transmitted to a server or saved, and there is no account to create.
Should I only enter my top match?
No. Most students who compete seriously enter several things, usually one that stretches them and one or two they can do well in. The list is ordered by fit, not by value, and a lower-ranked competition may suit you better for reasons the questions could not capture.
