Individual or team

Individual · Individual or a two-person team. Both team members must meet all eligibility requirements, both must attend any in-person awards events, and the scholarship is split evenly between them. Two nominators are required either way. Once a project is a team project it is always a team project and cannot later be submitted by one member alone.

Registration deadline

The 2026 deadline was 18 February 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. A third-party scholarship site lists 11 February 2027, which is unconfirmed. Submit the initial portion early, since nominators need time after your application is approved.

Competition dates

Awards reception and recognition events are held in September in Washington, D.C. Fellows must be available to attend with at least one parent or guardian.

EliteSelection is measured in the top fraction of a percent nationally. Typically reached by qualifying through a lower round rather than entered directly.

Prizes

Scholarships of $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000, funding tuition and related expenses at accredited institutions.Three award levels, usable for post-secondary education. Fellows also attend a recognition event in Washington, D.C. and join the Davidson Institute's community of fellows.
